I know this isnt the right spot lol. but i couldnt figure out where the topic should fit!. I couldn't find it in the TOS rules. If anyone could answer me this lol.

A friend was wondering if it would be against the TOS to live stream an event in sl.

I told her i think it would be ok aslong as they got permission from the event holder and possibly make the names of SL people not show up.

I know ppl make tutorials and such on youtube of their own stuff. or tutorials on building and such. BUT idk

i told her to look at the TOS rules and i even looked and i couldnt find where it said about privacey or streaming rules.

Help please?

This is the issue we are having with a particularly annoying video troll.  I learned the other day he changed his display name to match the family name of my estate for some reason.  Ether to annoy us, just to get back in, or try to blend in.   I think he quickly learned that every Perth is well known and he wasn't on the family bio.

Under the Linden Labs terms of service, it is required that you get landowner permission to video any part of private sims.  At The End of Time it is clearly spelled out that video is not allowed without permission, so making videos at our estate is a Tos violation unless you have permission.

The specific part of the TOS in that link I send you can be found here.

I would advise you to read all the FAQ though as there are several important facts listed.   And yes, that does apply to live streaming.

Thank you! i will look over these and send them over to my friend. I am aware of the troll. I work at a couple auction places and i do keep an eye on him lol. cus to warn the auction places about him going live and any names/name changes. I think it stupid and i hope they give up. its getting ridiculous

Well, regardless of any TOS you can't exactly stop someone streaming an event.

People do it all tge time without advertising they're doing it, and there's no viewer pop up that says "hey so and so is streaming this event etc".
