Sometimes people have a hard time choosing an avatar, or a certain feature for their avatar. Getting honest opinions (and/or advice) before making a decision can help a lot. If you struggle to customize your avatar like I do, this thread is for you. Post pictures here and let's ask the pros.

Which version looks better, left or right?

I have no personal preference either way. Any opinions would be appreciated. Thanks.

The second one - because of the freckles/blemishes and slightly less sculpted angles that make the the skin look more realistic. The added height of the second hair style and less severe hairline is also more flattering.

Like everyone else I like the right better, the details on the skin make it seem like it could be a person you could meet out on the street. The flawless dewy skin on the left looks more like male model ready for a photoshoot or a greek god. Those looks have their place certainly but if I'm picking one I'll go guy next door.

I'll use the one on the right then. I liked it a bit more as well but wasn't really sure if it was better. Now I know. Thanks everyone!

*cough* I like the left...

The one on the left shows more mesh detail, where the one on the right shows more skin detail.

I'm torn.

Is the camera adding a fisheye effect? Maybe press ctrl-0 to zoom in with less fish eye.

i like the left one but it could be because of the camera.

This reminds me of the last time I was picking skins and I had to take  photos. Had to flip between images back and forth like I was doing an eye test. Does this look better or does this one?

Definitely some fisheye effect going on there. I had no clue about the ctrl-0 zoom in trick. I just tested it and that's amazing. Thanks, lol!

I'm getting closer to 2x30, and still prefer the one on the left.  So, nyahh!!! 😜

I prefer the one on the right because it has more "realistic" detail. To this old lion's eyes.

Second pic pops better, IMO. I think the hair has a lot to do with it. On first glance it looks the better of the two, at least to me.

And ctrl-9 resets it. This is the first tip I give people after making sure they understand how to cam around.
