SURL not launching in Firestorm from Edge browser

I'm trying to help out my friend who is having trouble getting the surl to launch in his viewer (Firestorm) from his web browser (Edge). I suggested that he update the softwares and reboot, but the surl launch from web browser still fails to launch in viewer.

Any idea on what he could do?

There's some tips on https://wiki.firestormviewer.org/slurl - easiest way is to reinstall Firestorm on top of itself (no uninstalling first is necessary and it won't touch settings) and answer yes when it asks if you want it to handle the secondlife:// protocol. The SLURL proxy program might also do the trick.
