has anybody else seen this happen?

i'm on firestorm just prior to the PBR release, and this just started happening after working 40 minutes this morning.  as soon as i start editing an object, it appears to move/sink/slide.  HOWEVER, it is NOT actually moving.  as soon as i stop editing it, it snaps back to where it really is.

this is making me feel drunk/tripping and anxious.  so WTF?

Could be your PC detecting joystick input...

In Firestorm it would be Preferences > Move & View -> Movement -> Joystick Configuration

If Build is checked there joystick would affect object movement

no, it's just a product box.  not physical, tho not phantom either.

hmmmm JOYSTICK...   i have a 360 controller, but i don't think it works with FS without me having xpadder turned on.  but let me check!

...

Joystick for build it is!!  thanks ragu!  :)

hmm, but now it begs the question... if my joystick is moving the object in edit mode, why does the object snap back to where it started when exiting edit mode???

One of your joysticks is drifting ... happens quiet a lot lately with controlers.

ahhhh yes... you seem to be suffering from stick drift. fun fact the switch is the number 1 victim in stick drift. there are some videos on youtube that show why it happens. most likely with game controllers though xbox or playstation.. a new controller is in order.
