sassywheels Posted July 19 Posted July 19 I was trying to add a friend to the access list on my Linden home, but everything is grayed out in the access part, so I'm confused about how to allow people I know to visit. Is there a way to set the privacy on my Linden home so nobody can see inside or hear people talking outside the home? I appreciate any and all help possible. Grayed-out Access Panel.
Eowyn Southmoor Posted July 19 Posted July 19 You cant manually add people to the Always Allowed list in the LL homes. "Anyone can visit" is permanently on by default which does exactly what it says, allows anyone to visit, including your friends. As for parcel Privacy, that's in the Options Tab - "Avatars on other parcels can see and chat with avatars on this parcel" - just un-select that. If you want to restrict your land so that ONLY friends can visit, you need to either enter their names on the LL security device whitelist, or add them to your group and set the security device to "Allow Group". Random people could still visit, but the Security device will boot them after 15 seconds. You can still manually add people to the Banned list of course. 1 2

Do the friends I add to security have to be online at the time?

No. BUT, if you set the land to a group, anyone in that group can rez on the land. Also, you can add them to the access list on the home controller, so they can change the wall colors and use the doors/windows etc. 1

Nika Talaj Posted July 22 Posted July 22 Easy! You do that on the first tab in the land menu. Hit the "Set" button circled below, and you'll see a dialog with all your groups listed. Choose the group you want to use for your friends (the group you currently have active will be preselected for you, actually), and hit OK. Most people create a new group just for land management that has all their alts, their partner's alts, and very special friends who you trust. Once you set the land to a group, anyone in it can rez items on the land. (It's a good idea to be friends with everyone in your land management, and for the main avatar who builds on the land to have the right to edit/delete objects for everyone in the land management group). However, no one can change things on the land menu other than the person who owns the land. Including abandoning the land ... only the person who owns it can do that. 1
