The Welcome Hub, What Happened?

I have soooo many questions. I was banned a little before the community center opened for violating a rule in the terms of service and after a plea deal I was let out of second life jail a month ago just to be an arrival at a ghost town welcome hub. what happened to motown? what happened to the mentors? did that program get cut? before I was banned it was busy as always and a couple moles were always present. its just kinda sad as it was one of my favorite spots to hang and I was one of the first mentor groups to get accepted. last question are there any thoughts on why this happens where a place is booming than it just fizzles out?

I think mentors didn’t like other non-mentors butting in and being helpful so LL replaced them all with AI chatbot mentors who all ended up turning on each other in a bot-o-calypse that we aren’t supposed to talk about.

It is all still there but I guess the moles have been kinda busy with other things like SL21B. People there at most times though.

this is true I once thought about that and its a good point. its just the sanbox seems to have the most traffic. which is awesome but the main area where the hand print is cant think of the area name Atm. seems to only have people who AFK there, maybe im just going at wrong times? its not how I remember it. sigh.. ohhh and bots. more bots standing around than I remember

Mentors are still there, Moles too. The only thing that changed is the main landing area for new residents. That’s now in the Community Exhibition Center, so mentors (and others) will mostly be found there.

 This is exactly what happened. The mentors literally became hostile to non mentors, saying theyre all just antisocial lurkers. I witnessed many helpful people get their head bitten off just for helping. Truly disgusting what i saw there.

Moles and mentors are still there. Look to the skies and you'll see my flying around on my dragon from time to time too. You usually find the Welcome Hub is busier around 3PM+ so US peak times.

I was there a few weeks ago and would have been happy to help any newbie out. I was in adult shape but nobody want to ask me for help.  They kept fleeing the sim in terror too. I guess nobody has any  love for a 3m realistic spider avatar.

 Someone might have trolled it or forcing things on others they had to change things cause anything new some trolls like to make weirdness. The trolls sure bother people back then in the old help areas yes they had to send the trolls home or sl had to deal with them.  Should they bring te corn field back allow people to think. 

 

Some people may not like to ask for help but mentors do say hello in local will message they don't wanna push some people like to learn by self but if they need help they will ask when they are ready. 

Moles have been helpful just as the mentors  people pop up by the special exhibit and the mentors and moles do talk to others making sure people feel at home. FIne for others to help but allow the mentors and moles some breathing room let the newcomers walk out the area first if they need help outside of it. That is best just send them some places to find stuff and so on.   Mentor help new people in the area also were new people rez that they need space to help others good to respect that limit just help people when they get to the part to the meeting welcome area were all the chairs are and games or some were in the middle the new people do like to come up to people.  Yes the mentors are also in the meeting area also but much bigger spread out so others can meet  and make new friend. Everyone needs space. We love people and give people time and space also.  Even though I don't like it when my friend comes up behind me in my office, he has to learn to knock first a few inches away.   Volunteering also comes from the heart but they have helped new people, some new coming back so give them room to help others. Yes some people might get nippy but thing called boundaries be the way you also wanted to be treated you would want to someone bothering why your trying to work and help people like waiting in line to many people talking at once why thier a line waiting in line with manners. But if thier are mentors can be nice but they don't wanna deal with crap either so if they have to excuse themself go meet in the welcome meeting area like people would at airport don't get up people space.  Not saying anyone wrong but think before you enter you wanna help to sign up be a  be mentor give feed back to sl more helpiful tips they wanna here it.  Just wanna help just because  just meet outside the gate in meeting area to help others wait to message new comers give them some other help. Ofcorse the more the merrier but lets give people space nothing to really get mad over just have some fun. If not your day take step back take a breather take a break come back don't let your mind get to you. Even if this online yes your natraul nature to want to help others but also give yourself some care yourself you need care so let the peace go with you every were you go.  I been on a newbie the moles and mentors are nice places sit at the exhibit we laughed talked about fond memroy's and the present now.  

I do believe that mentors and moles should get a strip of allowance and little perk for the work they have done even if it's volunteer work they need a boost of encouragement. Credit that  can be used in second life.

The Welcome Hub is always quiet.

It's the middle of the last month of summer in the state. People are enjoying the space  time with friends and family or alone time  on vacation. School is about to roll back up at the end of Aug to Sept so many repairs to get ready for school/college  as well will. Many people are working due to the economy.  But as summer slows down it will cool down to autumn summer more will be back on. But people still come on, you just have the right timing for what works for you. Try in the morning , middle of the day or later when people are out of work more time to relax later in the day and Friday with weekends when people will be more on.  But there are all people around the world you need to find your timing. The welcome area is 24/7 open, just show up if you want to see people tell people about going there just pop in some friends.  Helpers and moles show up when they can other people as everyone on schedule just as new people coming in they made things techy stuff to help new people and location ports to help people explore and area's. Keep yourself busy go to other places you can all-way's visits but don't let get to you it will heat up again when weather cools down people will be inside staying toasty and warm.

Been over for awhile although I suppose there is some amount of tidying up that needs to be done but you'd expect it to be done by now.
