Luna Bliss Posted July 13 Posted July 13 (edited) I could hear a private conversation between two women chatting in voice, one in my store sim and the other in some other region. I zoomed in to see if a customer needed help finding anything and saw the little green lines indicating one is talking in voice, saw nobody was nearby (not even on the map), and could hear their conversation. Her friend asked her where she was, and she replied saying she was at bliss island where they'd been looking at tropical items earlier. Apparently private voice calls are not always private! Love Zhaoying Posted July 13 Posted July 13 Possibly you were hearing it through the local person's computer - and they had SL voice on - but they were talking with their friend using some other means. Just an idea. Similar concept to, if you're at a RL store and having a conversation on a "speaker phone call". In this example, your store is the "RL store", and whatever call method they were using was the "speaker phone call". 3

Qie Niangao Posted July 13 Posted July 13 I like the idea that they were talking separately with the other person's sound coming through speakers at the same time the SL voice mic was open so you could still hear it all. If it happens to be yet another Vivox bug, at least that garbage will soon be replaced. 2

Possibly, but at least the core functionality will be something open source and in wide use. And if I understand correctly, it'll pass all communications through a proxy host, so there's no reason participants should ever be able to get each other's current IP addresses. 2
