Hello

Been in SL a long long time, finally switching back to All AMD build starting tomorrow *as long as the newer PC arrives undamaged*      Anyways   Swapping from an Intel 10700 & Nvidia 1660 Super to an AMD Ryzen 7 7700X, and Radeon 7800XT  (prefer All AMD for my AMD builds)       Plan on at first having possibly 1 M.2 and 1 Sata Game SSD for all the games, with plans later to add a 2nd M.2 For All The Games

Unless i grab my 500GB M.2 Out of Old System, and use that for Boot M.2, and the included 1TB Pcie Gen 4 M.2 as Game M.2 and Sata SSD for Storage of Music and Light video editing tasks.   I still trying to decide fully which is best to do at this point

Switching from Intel to AMD is going to make pulling the boot SSD from the Intel and moving it to AMD very difficult. You'll need a different set of chip drivers.

SL runs well on Intel and AMD CPUs. When you switch from Nvidia to AMD GPU you move to a less well supported OpenGL drivers. However, there doesn't seem to be any current problems with the Radon drivers.

Enjoy.

Well i might wait and purchase a 2nd NVMe  to avoid the problems switching the M.2 NVMe,  totally understands on the different chipset drivers as previously had AMD systems in the past,  but been since 2017 since i used one personally

Good to know not any current problems with Radeon drivers

How much Ram? Sl is Ram hog, 32GB min I would recommend. New Viewer is even bigger Ram Hog.

Machine has 32GB [16GB x 2] DDR5-5600MHz RGB,   Might bump it up in the future to DDR 5 6000 64GB Kit if need be,   Video card has 16GB of Video Ram (Radeon 7800XT)

Current Machine that is Intel 10700 based has 32GB DDR4, 2666mhz,  Geforce 1660 Super 6GB of Video Ram,  and using latest PBR Viewer
