Always check Grid Status Reports ( http://status.secondlifegrid.net/ ) when you start having login or inventory problems.  They may be temporary system issues.....

Yup. Find something else to do in RL for a while. This doesn't happen very often, but you can be glad that they occasionally take the time to do major system work. For the first year that I was in SL, they used to do this every Wednesday for at least half the day. Sometimes the entire day. Their systems are much more sophisticated and stable than they once were, but it's still necessary to shut down sometimes and clean up.
