Does anyone know if Second Inventory is still able to track avatar locations from IM data?

I have read that Second Inventory can locate an avatar from hidden information contained in IMs.

So when an unknown Avatar sends you an IM a TP or a FR it may be someone trying to find you?

Is anyone able to confirm or deny this?

If this is the case is thee some way to prevent it?

Hi, this was possible in the past but it was fixed a couple of years ago. The IM protocol still has a location field, but it is now blanked for messages from avatars. It is still filled in when objects send messages.
