The Exchange Risk API allows legitimate third-party Linden Dollar exchanges to operate with relatively low fraud activity. This is necessary because user-to-user Linden Dollar exchange activity is a consistent target of attack for attempted fraud and similar malicious activity.

The API returns Linden Lab's determination of the risk associated with the purchase of Linden Dollars in a particular transaction. It uses a complicated algorithm to identify accounts with nonstandard activity and determine the risk of fraud compared to standard activity, with respect to trading Linden dollars (L$). Use of the Risk API helps LLand other exchanges identify fraud before it happens. This system is LL'sbest attempt to identify and impede risky behavior, but nothing is foolproof.

So, let's see what might have tripped the warning flags......

Hmmmm....  Maybe this has something to do with it...  ( http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Linden_Lab_Official_Policy_Regarding_Wagering_in_Second_Life )

It is a violation of this policy to wager in games in the Second Life® environment operated on Linden Lab servers if such games:

  1. Rely on chance or random number generation to determine a winner,
    OR
  2. Rely on the outcome of real-life organized sporting events,

AND provide a payout in

  1. Linden Dollars (L$)
    OR
  2. Any real-world currency or thing of value.

This includes (but is not limited to), for example, Casino Games such as:

  • Baccarat
  • Blackjack
  • Craps
  • Faro
  • Keno
  • Pachinko
  • Pai Gow
  • Poker
  • Roulette
  • Sic Bo
  • Slot machines

This policy also includes sports books or sports betting, including the placing of bets on actual sporting events against a book-maker or through a betting exchange.

Linden Lab will actively enforce this policy. If we discover gambling activities that violate the policy, we will remove all related objects from the inworld environment, may suspend or terminate the accounts of residents involved without refund or payment, and may report any relevant details, including user information, to authorities and financial institutions.

The RiskAPI can refuse you occasionally without there being an actual problem. Try again later and it is likely to be ok. If you start to get refused consistantly, then there is a chance that you may have been flagged as high risk for some reason & you would need to contact support to find out why.
