SL viewer worked fine, it updated, now it sticks on loading, dns couldnt retrieve host , help?

Assuming you cannot go back to the older official viewer and that this was a mandetory update, you might try one of the many third party viewers on the official Linden Lab's list here:

If you are used to a Viewer 2 enviornment, you might try Kirsten's as that will be easier most likely than one of the viewers based on the old style.

 

There have been other complaints about the new Viewer 2 that just came out, so you aren't alone. I know that doesn't help though. Frustration isn't fun. Good luck.

I am facing similar issues with third party users. So we simply have to wait or throw away our macs, right?
