Can I change/edit the subdivision of my land without having to re-join the parcels and start again?

There is no way for simply move the borders. The only way (and not so problematic) is to join/split pieces of land.

Hard to say without seeing the exact layout that you have created, but you can just subdivide a strip of land 4m wide down one side of a parcel and then join it to the plot next to it, to move the line 4m. Or obviously cut a wider strip if you want to move the line 8m or 12m etc.
