Hi Caine,

Welcome to Second Life Answers. What do you mean by sound? Voice or environmental sounds?  What SL viewer do you use? You can add more information to your post in 'Options'---> Edit.

Many things in Second Life can generate sound: avatars, objects, wind, the UI, etc. Residents can upload sounds for 10L$ each and use the sounds in scripts or gestures or even play them directly from their inventory.
