Try this.  Menu Advanced --> Character --> Character Tests --> Test Male / Female

Clear your cache -all cache.

Try going to a quiet place and wait there until your inventory has completely reloaded..such as Pooley or Smith sims. Walk away from your computer. Do not open a browser, get into IMs, etc. Just let it load your inventory. Once that has completed, and you are still a cloud, then try what Storm suggests.
