Even in the US I have issues with SL and PayPal so I use my CC instead there and no problems. You may also want to check with your Credit Card Bank to see if any transactions where denied. Often, as is the case with Wells Fargo and several other US banks, they tend to block transactions fro Second Life as their merchant record is not very good.
