Stupid Pre-Fab Mainland Meadowbrook Linden House

Hi there. So I've posted before looking for a way to kick my house to the curb and was told to right click the land and select "abandon" but for me that option is greyed out. Why I wonder? I need to unload this useless albatross. Is this much trouble ditching these homes normal? I'm getting increasingly desperate. I'm subscribed on the premium quarterly plan so downgrading before the quarter is up would be a waste but I'll do it if it's the only way. Can anyone weigh in on this and offer an alternative suggestion? It would be warmly welcomed and very much appreciated. Thanks!

if you downgrade before the quarterly period is up you'll keep your premium privileges till your next billing cycle when you become a basic member

Aha! Well that is good to know, thanks! But if that is the case, I take it the house will also stay until that time as well.

Hi Rybbon,

Two possibilities here:  First, Linden Homes tend to fill up their entire land parcel so its sometimes hard to right click on the right parcel.  Instead, go into the home and then from the World menu choose Place Profile - About Land.  Check to make sure its your home and assuming the land information has loaded, you should have the Abandon Land button available.

Second possibility is that the land information is not loading.  I've seen this on occasion with my own land before.  Usually all I need to do is relog and that corrects the problem.  So if you are certain you are looking at the proper land parcel and it continues not to load for you, you may need to contact LL (use Live Chat) to get some help from them.

I'm not home right now so cannot check but I'm fairly certain that I am checking properly. I have a small sliver of grass land between the porches and the land border which is where I've been clicking. When I check properties on the house itself I get more building related info rather than land info. I wasn't aware there was LL help chat so will look into that. Thaks again for replying.

What viewer are you using?  If it's the latest official viewer from Linden Lab, then it's the "V2" viewer.  If so, stand in the middle of your house and select "World" --> "Place Profile" --> "About Land" from the menu.  Check the name/description and whatever else to make sure you've actually selected the land for your Linden home.  When you really do have your land selected, the Abandon Land button will be available.

Couldn't you click the name of the land on top of your screen and then click abandon, instead of clicking the ground? Assuming you are on your own land when you do so, it would not have a chance to be the neighbor's.

If it is still greyed out then I don't know. Maybe when you downgraded, it already took the home from you.
