Logging in: "unable to connect to a simulator"

Ive just started an account, and i cant even log in. I keep recieving the message "unable to connect to a simulator"
Please help!

Try resetting your router and restarting your computer.

If the problems persist after you followed Charolotte's tips, check if you have a firewall (on the router and/or the computer) ans switch it off for a moment. If you get on then, configure it for SL - here is a page that explains it.

Try logging in to a different start location. If that doesn`t work, do you know if you have an active Group tag that has unusual characters in it? If so try logging in with an alt and getting your main avvie kicked out of the group to get rid of the tag or if it is your own group, use an alt to change the text on the tag.

If you think you do have an unusual tag that you can`t fix & nothing else gets you back into SL, you can contact support and ask them to fix your tag for you.
