Tara Moana
I've encountered this error message when trying to upload a model with only very small triangles, very tiny things. In this case the model was of a lot of small rings, which exist out of a lot of very narrow vertices. I've read somewhere on the forum that this error was caused by these tiny triangles, what I did was add a regular cube somewhere it would not be seen on the body of the avatar. Big simple cube that would end up inside the avatar's chest. Then put some weight paint on the cube so it moves along with the rest, and exported this. The upload worked immediately this time! Seems those small complex things need one big thing to hold onto :-)
Fizz Savira
I just had this happen to me recently, and it turns out that it was Firestorms uploader. I tried the latest linden viewer to do the upload and it worked fine. if that's not true for you (you are using the latest linden viewer) then you should check out this JIRA on the issue: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/MAINT-

Adele Bumblefoot
Thank you all, thank you Tara Moana as well in specific. I was making chainmail made out of efficient low poly torus items (but many of them) and adding a cube to that mesh allowed me to upload it. Just wanted to write that down in case anyone has a similar problem or may benefit from the method.
