I have property that I recently deeded to my group (me and alt) . But then I decided I will either rent or sell the property. I  split the land in half today and then recalled I needed to deal with the group deed.  I started following the instructions to remove the contribution and sell it back to myself.  I must have done it incorrectly to begin with as the contribution already showed as 0 on each plot.  On one half of the land  I was able to simply uncheck the group and uncheck owner makes contribution with deed.  On the second half I can not remove owner makes contributes with deed.  I have tried several times to sell the land to myself for  $0 and also for $1.   I am unable to get a "buy land" button. .  And I am already the owner.  I am stuck as to how to remove the makes contribution with deed designation.  (Note: there is also a third plot of group land that is not deeded, as the 10% bonus. Not sure what else to call it.)

the steps should be
open groupprofile
take away the land m2 donation (by this you get the tier level to your own account again)
repeat this for your alt if they have donated also
( you get a warning, but ignore that)
set land for sale to yourself, and /or alt if they also have tier donated
buy the land from your group.

If you show as owner, your land is nót group owned, at most "set" to group.
Keep in mind if your land m2 includes 10% groupsbonus meters owned, taking back the tier will not cover the total, and gets up to a next level if your personal tier isn;t high enough.

I followed the above instructions earlier and found 0 contributions. So it seems I had not properly completed the deed land to group process. However I am still unable to remove the check from the “owner makes contribution with deed” from one piece of the land.  Perhaps it does not impact anything but I am concerned it will cause a problem at some point. Also I can’t sell the land to the alt as she can’t purchase land.

That checkbox can't really operate unless the land is Set (but not yet Deeded) to a group.

I don't really follow the current state of your land ownership, but the screenshot above shows you selling yourself land you already own as an individual, which can't really be useful. (Probably the idea was to sell group-owned land to yourself, but this may all be ancient history by now.)

If you really do have all the land owned by yourself as an individual, and if you want to deed some to group, at that point you will want to enable that "Owner makes contribution with deed" so you don't get dinged for more tier to separately make the contribution while you're still owning the land as an individual.

You may want to check out the Land Use Fees page of your dashboard just in case you're already paying more tier than you expect. If you're owning land individually that you thought was group-deeded, some adjustments may be in order.

I appreciate all the help.  I had originally missed the first step to set my contribution on the group page.  I finally removed the check mark on about land by joing the parcels together and then removing the check mark.

As an exercise I went to another parcel owed to set the process up as group owed land under a different group name and it was double counted against my land holding.  So looks like I need a ticket to be able to make individually owned land into group land without double counting against my land use fees.

Again I appreciate the help from everyone who responded.

It's very tricky and I'm not sure what went wrong in this particular case.

There are sorta three distinct paths by which land can come to be group-owned, but cross those streams and it's curtains for the free world: the tier contribution may get counted multiple times.

  1. Land for sale by a third party: The buyer first contributes enough tier to the group to cover the land, then uses "Buy for group".
  2. Land owned by a group member who wants to donate the land and the tier at the same time: The group member first "Sets" the land to group, then "Deeds" it with the "Owner makes contribution with deed" box checked.
  3. Land owned by a group member where the group already has the tier contributed: "Set" then "Deed" but without the "Owner makes contribution with deed" box checked. (After that, the former landowning group member will have a bunch of spare tier, freed-up when the group assumed ownership using its already-contributed tier.)

One way it can be double-counted is if the additional tier was already contributed to the group (as in #2), but the land was nonetheless deeded with that "Owner makes contribution with deed" box checked (as in #3). That way, the "spare tier" doesn't get back to the former owner, but rather accrues to the group's contributed tier.

I think the first, "Buy for group" option adds complexity, but it's necessary in order for the group's 10% tier bonus to apply immediately, instead of somebody buying the land as an individual (without benefit of that bonus) and then donating the land and tier.

Just forget about the checkmark. It only matters when you are deeding land to a group. If you feel that you just have to clear the checkbox, set the land to your group, check the "Allow Deed to Group" checkbox, and then clear the "Owner Makes Contribution with Deed" checkbox.
