missfreudianslit Posted March 7, 2023 Share Posted March 7, 2023 I'm brand new and I'm still working on my avatar but doing some shopping looking for a mesh body, I'm having a hard time finding a model that I love. I see a lot of cute thick bodies, or chubby bodies, but I want a body that's actually fat, with a belly, to represent myself. Most bodies that are chubby or thicc are so cute but they lack belly- it's all big legs, ass, and ***** with a tiny waist. Where can I find a mesh body and clothes that work? I'm unsure if I'm missing something or if I just need to get gud at making things in game, or if someone knows of a shop that focuses on fat avatars? Included is pics of the body I modded when I started, which is kinda close to what I want but I know some people are SO GOOD at making models that look nice, so I'd like to eventually buy a body that looks like mine instead of settling for this. The best one, IMO, for this look would be Kalhene Erika. MoiraKathleen Posted March 7, 2023 Share Posted March 7, 2023 Before you buy a mesh body, be sure to get a demo first, and then experiment around using the shape sliders to see how close you can get with that body to the shape you want. Reborn does have more addons for it, that can help with getting there and thickening things up.. You can demo the addons as well as the body.. I do like how Kalhene Erika shapes right out of the box, but you will hit a wall when it comes to buying things for it.. Well besides the really ginormous bewbies addon, but Erika's can go pretty big too.... hehehe Honestly, I think things have slowed down with Erika.. It's been really quiet with that body lately. They are back at the small store now and really haven't heard much out of the creator.. They may be working on something, that or times are tight.. Which I can understand that for sure.. Inithium's also busy making a new slim/slender body for women unveiling in two days or so (with public release in April), so I dunno how hard they're pushing this add-on out to creators. I'd say Erika, too, but it's much harder to shop for that one. Erika shapes very well, but not a ton of stores are making clothing for it, unfortunately. I'm trying not to be discouraged because this is the one place I assumed I could actually see myself reflected in the avatar I can make. It's rarely worth it to pay someone else to create a shape for you, because only you know what your mental image looks like. The system of sliders can be confusing at first, but as you play with it you'll start to get a feel for how they all work. I suggest making small changes until you see what they all do. Like most people who have been in SL for a long time, I have been tweaking my shape continually. I have saved a half dozen shapes that I like, so that I have different starting points when I buy some article of clothing that looks odd unless I am taller/bustier/heavier/more muscular than I am at the moment. It's kind of fun. In RL, we have to find clothes that fit our bodies. In SL, we can reshape our bodies to fit our clothes, or our moods, or for some special occasion. The worn shape (item) is less of a problem than the mesh bodies themselves - and paying for a custom mesh body would be rather expensive (and it would also have no clothing). Bodies in general are often pretty limited and bound to the overall shape of the mesh, which means appearance sliders don't always do what you'd want them to, or even expect. You could widen the waist and add body fat to some of them and they just won't change very much, sadly. Reborn and Kupra are flexible, but I'm not sure how much waist you can give either one. Erika seems to be a bit more flexible than those two. I've seen some really nice shapes made with that one. You'd have to browse around and see if there are clothes you like that would fit it, though, so keep that in mind (Flickr is a great resource for that!). I would say try on the demos, play with them quite a bit, try demo clothes on the demo bodies as well, and see if you can come up with something you like. If you need more specific help with certain bodies, keep posting progress shots and questions here in this thread (just make sure any photos are safe for work/PG) and I'm sure people who own those bodies can give you some tips. Here are a few clothing creator pools for the bodies mentioned, by the way, so you can get an idea of the available clothing. Most or maybe all mesh head brands has well defined head structure, from super model to Instagram model aesthetic and when it pair to a plus size mesh body, it doesn't look right. You are only plus size from the neck down. They have them to thicken your body up as well as slim it down, that might help you get what you are looking for without sacrificing clothing options too much. Body shopping and head shopping are so intense, I tell ya. 😄 Great advice, though. Luisa's super cute and has been updated along with the others to come with the Evo X map and elf, mermaid, and vampire ears. I wouldn't recommend the first head. It's also adorable, but it will only fit the SLUV map. I don't think the regular AK Advanced line has made the jump to Evo X, unfortunately. Those were some cute heads, too! Edit: I'd also wait to purchase the head. AK is known for 50% off sales. You may want to join the group (150L fee, but worth it, as they give out freebie heads to group members, too) to keep up with the sales notices. Lewis Luminos Posted March 7, 2023 Share Posted March 7, 2023 I managed to achieve a fat shape with one of my alts using Kalhene Erika: and with Belleza Freya: Freya is discontinued but AFAIK it's still available for sale in the Belleza main store (hidden at the back of the Men's section) This is the best you'll get with any of the main bodies. For a more extreme look there's Piggu June which has also been mentioned, but there's hardly anything for it to wear. A Trans alt of mine sports Erika and Freya. I love those shapes, Lewis! There is no point getting it unless you're roleplaying a Zooby pregnancy. In my experience Erika fattens up more realistically than Freya, which has a more pronounced waist, but as others have pointed out Freya is much easier to dress. The mesh head wasn't there but I just took a picture of the add because it say's the skin is made for Lelutka Evox.. Now I'm wondering if this is the new Lelutka head, shaped to where we can make bigger faces now? I grabbed a demo just now and gonna see.. it say's this skin is for a lelutka evo x..
