How do i make a fitmesh bodysuit look like skin?

Hello all Im a newbie (just over a month). I have been able to create some really cool avatars but I am stumped as to how to make a fitmesh bodysuit look like skin. I have isis, freya, hourglass, physic ect ect ect, a lot. They all are white when worn! I am trying to create a naked  WOMAN and am using  the VAW rigged vajay jay but I am also encountering an issue with the vajayjay being 3 to 4 inches lower then where it should be and it is not adjusting  in edit. This is why I bought a fitmesh body suit pack. But now my model is white (not skin tone white. like paper white). Do i need to buy a skin texture and the drag it to the textures in edit? Please help. Its frustrating that I cannot move the nipples or vag jay jay to the places I want and need to alter my body shape to fit them. Is this normal? I find myself using the petite mayatra??? nipps and just hiding them behind the boobs as I cannot understand how to make them fit right? why would they sell a body suit with no skin textures?  I am full of questions. These are my first. Hope to hear some helpful hints. Thanks

the zeus man bit easily moves when selected in edit why doesn't the woman's bits do the same?

I am unclear what you mean when you say "bodysuit". Do you mean a garment that is a bodysuit, or a mesh body? Have you made the mesh body yourself or are you wearing one you purchased, like Freya or Maitreya? 

If you made the body yourself, then yes, you will need to make the skin texture yourself too, and you'll need to make it specifically for the UV map of your own body; a skin made for any other body almost certainly will not fit.

If you are wearing a body you have purchased, you will need to show us exactly what you are wearing; a list of every attachment and every system layewr, so that we can see what may be causing the whiteness, because that is not normal.

The reason you can't move the nips and VJ is because they are rigged mesh. Rigged mesh cannot be moved or re-sized; they can only fit the body they are made for, The ones made for Lara can't be worn with any body besides Lara, etc. The male bits are (usually - not always) unrigged, which means their position can be adjusted.  If your nips and VJ are in the wrong place, you're wearing them with the wrong body.

The first question I have is, Do you have the Maitreya mesh body? You say you have the Maitreya Petite, but that is just an add on for the Maitreya Mesh Body..

The reason you cannot move the nips or the Vaw V is because they are rigged mesh and rigged for specific bodies.. Rigged mesh is made for specific brands of mesh bodies and rigged to specific bones in the body. So both of those items being rigged, they won't be movable unless there is an option to move them around in the HUD that comes with them.. If they were unrigged mesh you could move them where you wanted.. If you do have a Maitreya Mesh body, you'll have to look in your folder for a version of the VAW V that is made for Maitreya.

I went and picked up a note card and see they have like 8 different brand versions that come with the VAW V.. You want to use the matching brand for the mesh body you are using.

I think I'm gonna stop here for now until we get more information..

We need to know the mesh body you are using, Also is Body suit meaning skins.. As well as, do you have  your mesh body set up for B.O.M./ Bakes On Mesh or is it still in the default of using applier skins?

To complicate things even further, different bodies have different defaults. Maitreya, Isis, Freya = applier by default. Reborn, Kupra, Erika, Belleza genX = BOM by default.  In fact, actually BOM only, no appliers anyway.

I went to the Maitreya store in game and bought the Laura avatar and holy smokes wow! Glad I did that. There are so many things to confuse when getting started and trying to create a perfect looking avatar... So here is what I did and I will post in another spot and perhaps do a video tutorial on this in the future for people.
1)Bought Maitreya lara but it does not come with shape.

2) So I am using (red)sand female fall 2012 gift shape&skin combi 1 for shape.

3)applied Maitreya mesh body alpha
 

4) applied  lara v 5.3 HUD  Body and tattoo layer
 

5) applied genus gift head strong 001 and eyebrows, I am confused about this as in the now wearing there is no genus head just eybrows showing in wearing section... I looked far and wide in the store for genius head to buy but all i could find are face shapes! Why is it so hard to have an actual head listed for sale???? So i ended up using this one,

6) added VAW butt, va jayjay and lips with HUD. 
Now I have a realistic looking female avatar. 
This process is way too overcomplicated for average people I do say.
Now she looks fantastic! here is a pic

well guess I cannot just PrtSc to attach a pic so whatever. Second life is overcomplex in all of its facets, even just trying to pst a screenshot I just took will reqire me to get a URL somehow? Really... Don't get me wrong im not complaining as I love the freedom and that you can do what you want here its just not going to be easy to convince anyone its worth the time it takes to get a good look going.

You don't need a URL. If you press the Print Screen button, you can right-click the text area while typing a new post and select 'paste'. The image will be automatically uploaded and inserted into your post.

I think the reason it is so hard to really help so easily is,  you are doing so much at one time and it's kind of hard to really go into detail on everything at one time without putting a really long post in here.. hehehe

There is a good learning curve to getting off the ground, so there is lots of details to go over with everything you are doing..

This might help with more visual with your Maitreya body.

With so much going on at one time, it's much better to be more hands on and in person to be able to help without typing everything out  in here..

If you would like to hit me up in world I'll be on most of the day.. I'm on central time and will be on pretty much the whole day and would be more than willing to go into a lot more detail with  the different systems your body and head  are using..Plus can get to things in my inventory that can show you more with visual of what is being talked about.. I can also show you what you are asking about for your body suit, which will work with your Maitreya body and go over shapes and  much more..

You just copy the image url and paste it.. As long as it will embed it should show.. Don;t use the link up in the options or it will just show the link.

They may not let you upload images yet until you have more posts in the forum.. I think it's to stop bots from spamming images or something.. So it won't let you use direct print screens like this. Not until you have like 50 posts or something like that..

I didn't really even know we could use print screens to the forums until now.. hehehehe

Upload your image to an image hosting site like Flickr or Imgur or Gyazo or something like that. Grab the image url from there, and paste it into your forum post. It should embed automatically, if you've got the right url.

And now I understand why that bodysuit is just plain white. It's a full-perm template kit, made for designers to create their own textures for it. The pack includes a texture file called "AO Map" (or something similar). Open that texture in your inventory and save it to your computer. Then open it in a graphics program such as Photoshop or GIMP, and you can edit it, colour it, add layers etc from there. Once you've got a texture you like, re-upload it to SL (this will cost L$10). Finally, rez a copy of the bodysuit on the ground, go into edit mode on it (right click, choose edit) and open the Texture tab. Now you can drag your newly-uploaded texture into the square Texture box on the edit window, and Take the bodysuit back into inventory.

If you go to imgur.com, you can upload images without an account. (They won't be visible to anyone without a link.)

Apparently you can use imgur without an account (thanks, @Wulfie Reanimator) but alternatively, when you have enough forum posts, you can just upload the image directly here.
