Looking to rent shop space.

Hey there!

As the title suggests I am looking to rent out  a shop front in a mall or a club. Does anybody know or own a vendor space in somewhat busy location?

Sadly I think the days of actual "busy locations" have disappeared (over a decade ago really) so while you are shopping for those be sure and check if the traffic is "real" or if it is just bots or alts wandering around OR just folks watching lucky boards that are not really shoppers.  

I looked recently and didn't find a thing and I have good "land karma".  It appears that you are new so likely have missed out on a lot of SL history.

I see! Yeah it seems i've missed the golden days hehe.. I've seen a couple busy clubs have shop stands, but it seems to be impossible to rent them out as they're always taken lol

The Cosmopolitan sim has small stores around their main event space.  No idea how much or if there are any available.  There are also shops, IIRC, the Men's Dept. Event.

Don't most "busy" clubs also have malls close by? If it were me, I'd pick a club that I liked to frequent, and rent from their mall. (The larger clubs often own the malls too, and the rent helps pay their region / tier fees.)

Personally, I've never shopped at those little stores at clubs.  I have, however, wandered around the stores on the Cosmo event sim since the Hello Tuesday? Sales are there.

Part of the reason I have is, being a furry/neko, if I go to a furry/neko club..they usually have furry/neko shops/mall nearby.

Otherwise, if I "go shopping" for something specific and the vendor is popular in a mall, I may check out that mall.

It is somewhat of a shame that the most popular sellers of animations, bodies, heads, skins, etc. all are in isolated selling environments. Sure, they will have vendors that show affiliated or related gear.  But I guess they are "isolated" to keep down lag. And maximize sales to their own stuffs.

I guess malls in SL are mostly gone just as a lot of malls in RL are closing.  The mall I went to my whole life just closed last year.  😥

I do remember malls in SL being really, really, laggy. I wonder if there was a "golden age" after that when they weren't so bad?

Yes, RL malls are dying. Partly because the "anchor stores" are dying.  I bet there will be a resurgence due to nostalgia, or some companies will "take the lead" hoping people will enjoy in-person shopping again one day.

So far as Cosmopolitan, those are invitation only and folks there are also in the Cosmopolitan Event.    Even if you are in the event, you cannot necessarily rent when a shop becomes available.  While I agree that is a more or less real traffic place, the folks that "I" know that have shops there mostly break even on Hello Tuesdays sales. That doesn't mean that everyone has that experience - only the folks that I know that were talking :D, 

Fifteen years or so ago Malls and shopping sims were definitely the place to be.  My experiences (maybe four or five locations) still didn't bring in lots of money.  Only one place that had hunts each week proved to be an actual traffic equals sales venue.   Still, if you are only going to have a little store I prefer to be in a shopping village simply for the optics. 

 

And so far as clubs go, some club owners rent out the stalls to their alts -- again mostly for optics.  

OH I just thought of something for the OP @MadamePuqe -- The BEST OF SL sim has been completely redone and they are having their grand opening in March sometime.  It is very impressive.  Not sure how the shops are being rented. The ones that were there before the remodel were partly long time brands with maybe a few "friend" shops in the mix (I don't know that -- just that some shops weren't well known etc. ).  

 So that might be worth checking out.

While its not popular I do have a smaller 1024sqm plot of land im trying to find a tenant that will do something useful with it... im literally charging the land usage fees dont want to make profit from it... but im also not trying to sell it... you can IM me ingame if you are interested in seeing it... its flat land and in a good spot with no one around you.
