Second Life Viewer 360-degree snapshot is not accepted by places.secondlife.com as spherical image

What just happened?

places.secondlife.com displayed an error message:
Errors prohibited this spherical_zip from being saved:
Zip content type is invalid
Zip is invalid

What were you doing when it happened?

I was attempting to upload a 360-degree snapshot created by Second Life Viewer.

What were you expecting to happen instead?

I guess I expected places.secondlife.com to have been updated to accept the image format that Second Live Viewer writes 360-degree snapshots in.

Other information

I believe this worked for me in August of 2018. The viewer was saving to a different format at the time.

Second Life Release 6.6.9.577968 (64bit)

It was closed with as duplicate with this note "Thank you for the bug report! This is a known issue; unfortunately we do not currently have an eta on a fix."

Anybody have a decent work-around?
