How to Set Mainland Up For Auction?

before everyone jumps my bones.. I have read the forum but there is no place for me to list my parcel for auction like it says, I have also dug and found nobody is telling how to do it besides a forum a few years ago. nobody is buying my parcel so I thought why not set it up for auction but in the place tab there is no such option. I uploaded pictures, description and my account is premium plus. I also unlisted the parcel for sale and no option.. not sure why its this hard what am I missing? please help?

No longer available. From the knowledge page. Obviously nothing happened LOL. AFAIK land isn't selling all that well these days so unless you have something special (waterfront, abutting Linden park etc) then it will likely need to sell fairly cheaply.  You can put in a classified ad and advertise on the forums here in LAND. Beyond that you have to hope that folks are watching the yellow spots on the map.

honestly sitting here shaking my head... I know you dident jump my bones but I did see that red notice and while its now 2023 that was along time ago and felt by now it should have been resolved. also the new resident part seems misleading.. mainly hearing new resident sounds like someone under 15 days old or such and my account is 2 years old so I am not a new resident.. I guess from a outside point of view where info is limited being it was that long ago it was fixed but I suppose not.. also shaking my head at the lack of forums discussing this. if this was the case maybe they should have updated or said exactly what you just said which would have not prompted this discussion. I heard what your saying and thank you for responding

we might seem masochists sometimes.. but there is a time we stop beating dead horses... there are more fun things to do than waste time on broken features that got the stamp "soon" or "in the future" ( both meaning "never or not a chance" in Linden terms)

The existing abandoned land auctions don't even work that well; the resident-to-resident auctions weren't any better and had some unspecified(?) gaming/griefing problems for which technical solutions were apparently insurmountable. The mistake at this point is leaving any reference to those resident auctions anywhere it could tempt folks into thinking they might come back someday. That's vanishingly unlikely now, even though it seemed it would have been useful for improving the "liquidity" of the Mainland market, back five years ago before Bellisseria became the Lab's main Land product.

That said, I see a lot of land selling on Heterocera (the only place I pay much attention), if priced appropriately to the location. But @Chic Aeon is certainly correct that the "appropriate price" is very low for parcels without at least one protected side—water, road, rail, etc. And, as always, there's a vast backlog of parcels on the market at prices that were never realistic, awaiting that "greater fool" that, in the case of some sellers, will be hard to find.

Well maybe not "new" (not sure what that refers to really) but not around long enough or watching enough to know by now that what LL says they will do and what actually gets done aren't always equal. It didn't work. They abandoned the project.  Also note that info on the wiki and knowledge base is often wrong -- as in seldom updated. It has always seemed like the WEB portion of support is the last to get the memo or perhaps simply understaffed. Anyway,  you know now and most likely won't make assumptions in the future. All good. 

 

Hence we have the forums with folks that are paying attention.  

 

The red box by the way was a screenshot from the knowledge base which was easily found via Google. Nothing I did.
