"Lake Tahoe Summer Colony" Designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, modern rendering by David Romero.

This would work in SL. It might fit with the houseboats. It's all flat surfaces, so the land impact would be low.

"Morris House". This approach could be a nice build for a site with a steep cliff. Such land in SL is hard to use. The funny-shaped thing on top could probably be omitted. That's a little too Dr. Seuss. If there's a beach at the bottom, an elevator in the cone would be a nice touch.

Morris house interior. This is so 1950s, recessed lighting and all. Notice that the big columns in the exterior view, which would have blocked the view, are gone, the balcony is narrower, and the room is larger. Redesigning the exterior to fit this would probably be a good move. The end result might look something like Tony Stark's house, but not as grandiose. For SL, we need liveable houses. You don't want to copy un-built designs exactly. Just use them as design inspiration.

Arizona state capitol. In SL, this would make a good interior for a shopping event. Wright's original design had a huge, useless spire outside. The Marin Civic Center, which was built and is still in use, had a similar useless spire, which was actually built. I've been there. The spire didn't help.

It's funny, and perhaps sad, that for futuristic design, we have to reach back to the mid 20th century.
