Shared environment

how oo we get past the "shared environment" and select our own option of how the avatar and surrounings lok ?

Go to your settings folder in the library section of your inventory and choose an EEP setting...Apply to Myself only.

One very easy way: Go to World>Environment and choose one of the times of day, e.g. Midnight. The sun will set, but for you alone, and night will remain until you cancel the setting.
