Heads up Linden Realms players, looks like a big change may be coming: Linden Realms may be getting a Premium option. Happened to be camming around in Portal Park 2 and saw a new Realms portal directly below below the usual one. The Linden Realms payout is horribly low: just L25 / 0.25 USD, so I'll be interested to see what costs and payouts come with a premium option.

oooh! what if they brought the OLD realms back for premium users (as I suggested approximately four million years ago)? payouts were better, monsters were less annoying, it was less glitchy in general, and you didn't have to keep re-doing the quests. That might tempt me to keep my premium alt.

Heh... That's not where they put new stuff that is about to be released.  That's more likely to be an idea that didn't work out and just got shoved under the floor.

Yeah, there has always (?) been a stack of two portals. What's new is that this one has two Linden Realms portals side by side, one marked "Premium." Premium accounts haven't been around so long, and AFAIK no mention has been made before of premium members having a different experience in Linden Realms. A premium account is way out of my league, but I'm curious what the benefits in Linden Realms might turn out to be.

Linden Realms and their payouts were never designed to be seen as an income stream for anyone. The amount of time that you spend there is valued at way more than you can get back. It's a token payment.

As for premium being around a long time - I can remember it being around when I started and that was in 2005. You even had to pay for alts back then too!

Thank you. I was pretty sure that Premium accounts were available when I joined 16 years ago, but I wasn't paying attention to them at the time.  The earliest date I could find in a 30 second search was April 2009, which is why I said cautiously, "before at least 2009".  In any case, Premium is not a new idea.

I think it was more i did something bad than my ability to do LR. years ago in the general area Bellisseria is now there used to be a copy of the realms i foolishly tried tp-ing there as it seemed to allow direct tp's i think i tried every region gave up it was after that i stopped being allowed there

I'm sure someone has suggested this, but assuming it was "an accident" then you can always file a support ticket to get LR access again.

If they are the same as the ones I'm seeing at portal park 2 they have a creation date of 2016. Likely something that was never gone through with and forgotten about

if I may have another question about Linden Realm? recently 2 servers worked - 3 and 4. now only 1 works - server 3. on the map you can see server 4 nearby, but it does not start players. it became very crowded because there are many who wish to collect crystals. will two servers work as before the third and fourth?

There used to be 6 (SIX) "servers' actually estates, with 12 regions/estate all in operation for the Linden Realms. 

By cutting back from six to one, they save more lindens since the number of crystals generated per region and estate has not changed. Actually it seems like there are less crystals now than before the "cheating prevention measures", but that could just be too many players for only one estate.

If the bottom line is for LL to save money by preventing players from cashing out too many of their lindens to RL dollars, then the Realms are a LL success story.  Since you are lucky to earn 25 lindens/hour now by collecting crystals, this must be a huge savings.
