sweetindifference
Sometimes boating on the Blake Sea is very okay. But often it is horrible. Sims crossings crash me. No matter what boat or ski jet i am on. I thought for a while that it was better, then yesterday it was horrible.again could not stay on the computer or the Blake sea. lol I was hoping with the inventor back with Lindens that fixing the Blake Sea might be a priority. sighs
ToniaKR
Unless LL implement VAR Regions as in Open Simulator then I doubt that this problem will ever be resolved.

Yes, region crossings are fundamentally broken, but the fail rate is normally only once or twice an hour. Where in the world are you located, and what is your ping time to Northern California? Round trip times over about 0.5 second make the failure rate much worse, and near 1 second, region corners will fail every time.

If you cross a lot around sim corners, you risk disconnections... Same thing if you perform a U-turn crossing a border. Using the mini-map to visualize the sim border (when your viewer got that feature) helps avoiding such ”dangerous” situations.

The region is just larger so it acts like a regular region but with borders farther apart. Edited February 7 by ToniaKR Punctuation

I think I would like one in my inventory I would consider the TMS and Bandit boats being the best mainstream boats, despite the fact they are nothing i would call good myself. Since a decade or even more, they recycle the same water splash, engine and wind sound for every kind of boat. In fact, sailing their tiny windsurf board sounds exactly the same like their giant trimaran. Letting your friend taking the helm is a chunky thing to do, too. If the owner doesnt sit first, nothing works, there are no whitelists and there is no kick option to get rid of strangers just sitting on your boat, unless you as the owner get up, and rezz a new boat. I have quite some boats, but stopped dumping my money into this lazy business thats only about releasing a few new models a year and doesnt put any love or at least basic functionality into at all, but asking for 1.5 - 6K LD each. At least this boats will teach you some basics about sailing/boating, if nothing else at all. If you are into fishing, you could give hunter marine a try. If you wanna shred over the ocean with a police boat, try the Marlin motor cat. If you are into hovercrafts, maybe the Halob is what you want.

I think I would like one in my inventory I'm going to use an old chef's philosophy, when it comes to this questions, which I hope helps. It has to originally do with BBQ, which many folks will argue who has the best or makes the best, but for this topic, we'll swap BBQ for boats. Everyone, including myself can tell you and give many reasons of which maker makes the best boats, and then we can give you many reasons of why the other makers make the worst boats. In that sense, we're all both in our own, right, and yet at the same time, we're all wrong. So who makes the best boat then? That comes down to you. No, I don't mean learn how to build and script of course, what I do mean is head out to every boat maker you can find (and there's a good number of them) and demo everything that's on offer. Then you'll find who makes the best boat, because you'll find the boat that best fits You. I know, it's not the quick and easy answer, and time isn't always available for such things to be done. But in the end, what's better - a boat that everyone likes/dislikes that may or may not, sort of or possibly, eventually, right away, or never fit and work for you? Or a boat that You love?
