how do i "unruth" my avatar

my av has been stuck as a ruth for some time now. I've tried everything, clearing caches, de bug options, even just waiting it out. my inventoryh as downloaded, but when i try to wear something i get a message saying clothing and shape still downloading... i'm out of ideas or solutions

The best way is to rebuild your avatar.  Go to your Advanced (CTRL + D) or Develop (CTRL + Q) menu and select Character >> Character Tests >> Test Female.  (Exact labels may vary from one viewer to another, but it's there.  Trust me.) That will replace your lovely avatar with a brand new factory-fresh newbie, complete with a pretty polkadot dress.  Open your inventory and drag your favorite shape, skin, and attachments (clothing, HUDS, AO, etc.) back onto your av and you're good as new.  It sounds nasty, but it takes me less than 20 seconds. :smileyhappy:
