If they are simply looking at their balance in the Viewer, have them re-click the L$ icon and if that doesn't work, try a relog -- or check their dashboard.

If your L$ Transaction History really does show you paying the other person the L$ and their L$ Transaction History does not show them getting it, then open a Support ticket.

Transactions almost never fail, except when on rare occasions they don't go through at all.  Here are the usual things that look like a failure, but are not.

  • Your $L Transaction Log shows the payment, but your friend's does not. On closer inspection, you see that you sent the money to someone who has the same Display Name as your friend, or has a very similar username. Or you thought you right-clicked your friend in a busy club, but got someone else instead, and paid them by mistake. Your only recourse is to send that person a very nice notecard, politely explaining your error and asking them to return the money. Note, they don't have to do so.
  • Your Transaction log does not show the payment, even though you're sure you did it. In this case, the transaction failed. The money is still in your account. Send it again.
  • Your Transaction Log shows the payment, but your friend's in world $L balance does not. The inworld balance can sometimes fail to update. Have them check their Transaction Log, which is (almost) always correct. Or if they re-log, their in world balance should update.
  • Your Transaction Log shows the payment, but your friend swears their log does not. This is almost always due to your friend not being as honest as you'd hope a friend would be, and trying to get you to pay them twice. Your course of action should be: Don't call your friend a liar. File a Support Case, or call LL Billing at 800-294-1067. Include the data from your Transaction Log. Tell your friend to also submit a Support Case, and reference your ticket number. Ask them for their ticket number so you can also reference theirs. This should either cause them to suddenly "find" the missing money ("Oh, here is the transaction! I just didn't see it!") or the two of you will give LL something constructive to do for the rest of the week.
