Question

I have tried voice with v2, Dolphin 2, Kirsten's and RLV. The voice is garbled and/or sped up on v2, Kirsten's, and Dolphin 2. It won't work at all on RLV despite not throwing an error that it can't connect. It works with v1 viewers, but I would prefer not to use them as I can't wear everything I want to with them. This has only happened since the last v2 update. I'm running the newest versions of all four on Windows 7.

Updated: @Knowl: I tried that before (the Voice Canyon place), and I couldn't hear myself at all. However, I can hear other people other places partially. And no matter how laggy a place has ever been, I've still never had this problem before.

Updated: @Silky: Phoenix doesn't allow wearing multiple tattoo layers on the same area, it seems. That means that I'll be stuck choosing between my freckles, my beauty mark, and my eyeshadow, lipstick, and lip gloss. Honestly, I don't use voice often enough to pick voice over the appearance I worked so hard on, but I would like to figure out what's going wrong so voice AND looking good are possible simultaneously...lol. Tried Firestorm, instead of hearing something (like with v2, Kirsten's and Dolphin 2), I heard absolutely nothing.

Try visiting a Region called Voice Echo Canyon, you can find it using the World Map Inworld. The Region is dedicated to testing voice and is provided by the makers of Second Life. Only you will be able to hear you via an echo feature.

At that region you can work knowing lag, region performance is not the issue, unless you own a private sim then resources are not a problem.

Give you question some time to generate answers Tessa, someone here has your solution. (where's Peewee 0.0 )

Hi Tessa, just to help us understand the situation here a little more do you think that perhaps you could try another v2 based viewer and see what effect if any that has on the problem.  Perhaps you could give it a minute to download firestorm from this page http://wiki.phoenixviewer.com/doku.php?id=downloads

Once you have tried that for us please let us know your results here hopefully it will give us another piece of information in our effort to solve the puzzle for you.  Good luck :)

Also, I will point out that in the short tem you have a workaround option if v2 wont work for you to get Phoenix also on the page above, Phoenix is a v1 based viewer but does allow wearing of tattoo and alpha layers along with multiple attachments and clothing layers.  So if your sole reason you feel you need v2 at this moment in time is being able to wear what you like Phoenix has the features you need.  Of course that is juse a workaround not a solution to the origional issue it might improve your second life experience in the immidiate term while working towards a full solution.
