Unsolicited Garbage

I've blocked the account of the person sending their unsolicited, trashy freebie clothing to me but i'm wondering how I got on their list to begin with. I've never bought anything from them and I don't remember ever going into their store. 😬

 

Anyone have any ideas?

Found your name in another group. Or here on the forum. Or saw you in-world somehere. Or, you're well-known enough that they knew your name anyway.

And in any of those cases, added you to their spam-list manually.

Maybe their clothing contains scripts that collect the UUIDs of nearby avatars.

Getting the names and/or uuids of avatars in the same sim is trivial. It's how visitor loggers work, and visitor loggers add such names/uuids to their list. Once a name/uuid is in a list, spam can be sent to the avatar. It's all automatic. No hands-on actions required, other than rezzing one or more prims that contain the script somewhere.
