Question about placement of a homestead

are there limits on where you can place a sim or a homestead? Like could I place it so it has access to linden water ?

you won't be able to add it to Linden waters, but you can sink the land so that part of your homestead is sailable. Also, the homestead itself is situated in a water simulation ( not accesable)

I don't know if Open Space regions also are available for homestead owners, those are quite suitable for sailing use. You could ask support for this.
