Is there a simple way of getting the parcel name from the parcel ID in a script

While I'm aware that you can find  it out from (I think) www.secondlife.com/place/<parcel id>, this seems an awful complicated way to go around it, if a script wants to print out a stored place ID, as for each ID, it will have to do an http request and then dig out the actual name from the response, and I was wondering if there was a simpler way to get hold of the information.

If the only goal happens to be pretty-printing the parcel info to chat, there's the Viewer URI Namespace usage
  secondlife:///parcel/<parcel_id>/about 

Otherwise I think I've always stored the PARCEL_DETAILS_NAME at the same time I got the ID. Maybe somebody knows a better way.
