Since Friday 5pm (again) Scripts connecting to PHp or webfiles on Dreamhost stopped working.

I did trouble shouting Saturday and was able to detect and narrow it down to SL to Dreamhost connection issues.

AS of now it has not been resolved by SL and dreamhost. (hopefully will)

No matter the settings you set for your database user it will nto fx it, as objects can not connect to the php files to retrieve database instructions. (database IS NOT the issue).

Errounous conenction %XX errors are recieved in SL. To me this means a communication error between SL to dreamhost - logs show no connections' are REACHING dreamhost.

Work around (yes its a pain if you ahve alot of objects.

Copy your PHp files to another host (can leave database the same for most hosts - some free ones may NOT work. Add the sites url with wild card to database user name in dreamhost)

Change the url code in scripted objects to match. if there are multiple use the search feature in the script editor on sl to search for URL and repalce with NEW URL  and do it for all.

Did you also make sure that this is the case in other regions than the one that you initially tested this in?
Because you may have run out of HTTP connections for your region which will last until the next restart of your region.

There's been some discussion in a different thread, here: https://community.secondlife.com/forums/topic/493161-server-status-499/

THere is over 108 reports from different SL users that have im'd me . I am very techical and and foudn the issue, the rest is up to Linden for the error happening between the Amazon AWS servers LL uses and Dreamhost. THe issue is to all website folders and speed and delay due to dreamhost security checks.

LL said that a popular furniture creator's content was effectively DDOSing Dreamhost's servers due to bad scripting methods.

LL reached out to said creator, but IDK if the damage is done, nor if the creator can affect what is already in the wild.

LL could brick said creator's content if re-establishing good terms with Dreamhost warrants it, though.

furniture one? Maybe scripts werent devided out for http references. Dreamhost fixed issue but you may have to force reload folders with files.

I however moved mine to my much faster cloud service which i should have done from the get go. It accesses database through dreamhost, but  i need more reliability. THeir ping is still one of the highest for hosting services.

Seems to be fixed. I just tried one of my test bikes, which logs to Dreamhost. No HTTP errors, and the log entries showed up in the database on animats.dreamhosters.com.

This issue should be fixed, as of about 10min ago. The site involved in the problematic http requests has been moved off the segment of dreamhost that was blocking LSL requests, and SL's outbound LSL proxies have been migrated to new public IP addresses which are not impacted by the block. The example sites that hit 499 errors when requested from LSL scripts all appear to be responding as expected.

Thanks.

Yes it was fixed, a few of us wanted to know the reason, but i didnt wait on them , I had to recode all my items on our RP sims. Moved it to our cloud based secondary website. LEft database in place. I will say this the load of menu items to retrieve data is MUCH fast. Pings to an dreamhost sire is high. New site 16ms-22ms, dreamhsot 1750 average.
