If you bought and now own linden land bought through auction, why can't you be able to reset your land even if it's just allowed once a week its basically 4096 so guessing it's considered a parcel but still why are you not allowed to reset your land? or is it just that it's done only when they randomly do maintenance and rollouts like today? Asking as guessing you have to literally own your own mainland or something to have total control to do that!

This is confusing. If you bought it at auction (and it's even a 4096) then it is "your own mainland" and can do with it whatever is permitted on the region.

Which raises the question, what do you mean by "reset" of the land? If this is about terraforming and reverting the land, there are a few special parts of the Mainland that cannot be terraformed and might therefore be considered "permanently reverted". It's easy enough to tell if that's true of your parcel, but I'm not sure that's what you mean by "reset".

AFAIK, restarts on mainland have always been through support tickets or live chat whether it's an entire region or a single parcel.

If you want full control, you need to own, or rent with estate managerrights full sized private regions. ( also there parcels don't have those abilities)

If you want a region where your parcel is located to be restarted, all you need to do is contact Support. If you are contacting them during normal business hours, you can even ask the chat bot to do it (although the last I saw, it has trouble dealing with requests to restart regions in Bellisseria).

Much confusion here.

First, unless something has gone very wrong, it's not necessary to reset the simulator program that runs an entire region. So, what's the problem? Possibilities:

  • There's old stuff there from a previous owner and you want to get rid of it. You do that by selecting the objects and clicking on "Return". That sends the object back to its old owner's inventory, where it will be stored for later use by them. Usually, when you buy land directly from Linden Lab, they clean it off first, and you just get bare land.
  • You want to flatten terraformed land back to its original elevations. You do that in the "Build" menu, where there are various land options for raising, lowering, smoothing, and reverting land elevation. Before you do that, practice in a terraforming sandbox. There's a little one in a corner of the Builder's Brewery sandbox. Some areas of mainland do not allow this, and you're stuck with the Linden default elevations.

Something else?

Great observation! The rest of us failed to ask "why"!

Restart of a sim is an automatic thing now, you click on the robot "Boxy" on Support and type in the sim name. You don't have to wait for a live helper.

You can click "revert" on the land options to put the land back the way God and Philip intended it to be.
