Legacy Mesh Body Users - this is relevant to you. This will de-activate your body HUD if you turn off Media On A Prim.

That's not entirely true, I think. It turns off one tab of your HUD -- the one with saved makeups, skin shadings, and so forth. Which, admittedly, might be important for some.

But I have media turned off by default, and the rest of the HUD works fine. I just change my settings on the very rare occasions that I want to use the other tab.

Once I turned BOM on, I never used that tab again.  I used it often with the TMP body but it seems they could have eliminated it on the new body thus not requiring media access.  Just my opinion and how I used the HUD.

Fair enough. I have used my Legacy about four times since I got it on Black Friday, whenever ago, and I remember that I had to turn Media on to just load the HUD in the first place. I think the nail polish and the brand-specific skins (I don't know if anyone uses those) are also on a tab that is Media specific.

Yes, and that part of the HUD (which I'm not overly fond of in any case, for other reasons) is awful and stupid and unnecessary.

Fortunately, as Rowan notes, if you're using BoM, you really can almost just forget about that tab.

Ya, The third party things we can get for that body are way better anyways.. I'm just glad they don't have us stuck like they did with TMP with clothes.. hehehe

Myself, I went BOM made a copy of the body, hands and feet and then put them in their own folder to get future copies from, then disabled media..
