Question

It's been a while and I am out of the loop with this stuff, these two seem sort of the same. Is it worth to pay a bit more?

I am on the go and cannot own a desktop 😞

Laptop one

Legion Slim 7 AMD Advantage Edition 16" WQXGA Gaming Laptop - AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX-16GB Memory-AMD Radeon RX 6800S-1TB SSD

Laptop 2

Legion Slim 7i 16" WUXGA Gaming Laptop - Core i7-12700H - 16GB Memory - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 - 512GB SSD

While the Radeon RX 6800  and 6800XT are both better than the RTX 3060, the RX 6800S is not -- so Laptop Two actually has the better GPU.

Here is the ranking chart per PassMark Software:  https://www.videocardbenchmark.net/high_end_gpus.html

Thus, from those two, I'd get the second.  Upgrade to a larger SSD if you need the space and if upgrading it is an option.

Oops. I mistook the Radeon RX6800S GPU for the RX6800.... so the NVIDIA RTX 3060 is the better one.

Better CPU = Laptop Two

Better GPU = Laptop Two*

Bigger SSD = Laptop  One

I would agree with @LittleMe Jewell, go for the second Intel based laptop, BUT you should definitely upgrade the SSD to at least 1TB, preferably a Western Digital (WD) or a Samsung.
