I have thought of  starting a new pictures thread (yep, as if there's not enough of them ) One focussed in inexpensive clothes, jewelry, hair, make up, shoes, skins or mesh  bodies and heads, whatever that despite being free or inexpensive are quality, well made items that make us (Both men and women) look  awesome. I wonder though if it'd be ok to add in here too the name and brand of the items we wear in the pictures, or it'd be considered advertising and therefore not allowed; well, please someone let me know, and play with me... Come on! Add your pics wearing those inexpensive items that make you look awesome! 

For starters, there's my picture. Total cost of the whole attire (Not counting  mesh body, mesh head and head applier) 101 ld . Most of that amount belongs to the the price of the gloves, if you remove them, the sum lowers to 1 ld

I think it's a great idea. But kind of pointless if you don't list where the items come from, everyone is going to want to know. It would not be against the rules here, as I am reading them, to list where you got items from as long as you were not promoting your own store.

Well, yes, sometimes they intersect, other times they do not

An example, in my opinion of cheap (free!) and quality is Coco's group gifts, which is everything you see on those short black marble walls.

I think a fashion thread for economical things that are well made and worth buying is a great idea. The only thing I hope is that it be items that are always sold at an economical price not things for sale  that you can only get for a certain amount of time. This could be a valuable thread for new players.

Items included on a limited time sale might be worth mentioning in the thread if it's a situation where the designer puts out similar items almost every weekend

Example 1: Gupa typically has one or two skins at sale prices each weekend

Example 2: KC Couture typically has 2 to 4 styles of shoes in the weekend sales, and they are always fatpacks at that low price.

Right. I guess I didn't think it would be useful to have a repeat of things you can buy at FLF or weekend sales or the thread will quickly become obsolete. I'm not sure what the OP's intention for the thread is though.

There are some stores that consistently have lower prices on everything.  I've posted a few of those stores myself when I find them.  Granted, many are starting with full perm mesh but the array of textures/patterns is what grabs my attention.

The other "trending" thread is alright although anyone can see what's at those events by checking Seraphim.com and various other websites that list sales.  It's finding those stores that do nice things at an affordable price that are harder to find.

That's my idea, provide with info about nice items to  look good for new comers or people who doesn't want/can spend much in their avatars. Btw, Coco group gifts are indeed a great choice to find inexpensive yet  good clothes, ty!

Both Uber and The Warehouse Sale are having gifts for anniversary events, with some good items being offered. Joining the groups is required, but both groups are free to join. The Warehouse Sale has the gifts right at the event; Uber is a bit more challenging as most brands there either have gift boxes that only have a landmark in them, or a link to their landmark on their event booth. So you have to visit each mainstore, wearing the Uber Group Tag, to get the presents.

The latest two I've found is Le'La - their 18(!) lucky boards/chairs have recently been updated with new items (nicer than the last batch IMO) and on top of that they have a monthly group gift AND all the prevous group gifts are still available. If you've never been before you can easily pick up nearly 100 items for the price of the L$50 group join fee. Hmmm...I think there's been some misunderstanding. Low prices and high quality are not mutually exclusive. But there are a lot of low-quality items selling at low, medium, and sometimes high price points.😁 And on the other hand some creators are really generous about offering high quality items as group gifts, event gifts, and on the weekend sales (and even promotional item on marketplace for really cheap!

Maybe I'm just picky because of years of experience with Photoshop, but I can tell when someone has put the work into texturing a garment, whether it's their own original mesh or a mesh they purchased from another person.

Personally if I'm going to spend even Linden micro-currency on an item, I want to use my money (and my voice) to encourage high quality work.

I'm careful about not naming names regarding the low-quality stuff  because I don't want to shame people and honestly they may not know any better because we all start at our own level, with our own amount of experience. 

And, I think there are a few factors that are hindering the market's capacity to "take care of it" as far as the low-quality creators. One of the most significant right now is that we are totally on event overload in SL, and in order to keep many of these events open and "fully stocked" , their organizers are accepting lower quality items.

Garyll's post with that Blueberry top has reminded me about their in-store goup gifts. There's about a dozen in the main store (as opposed to 3 or 4 on the MP) and in-store they are free rather than L$1 each. And of course, everything from Blueberry is absolutely top-notch. However, the group is L$20 to join, so it does cost a bit more, per item, to join the group and grab them all. They don't seem to add to them very often, maybe once a year, so if you don't like the additional items, it may not be worth the extra cost.

I do think the store options are worth it though, for the quality. These are my fave items that are found in-store but not on the MP and that tanktop in the middle is one of my all time favourites, I wear it a lot:

1) Denim skirt and tank top. 37 colours for the top, 20 for the skirt.

3) Splish-Splash bikinis. There are 2 different bikinis in the pack, mix and match, 37 colours each and you can make different combinations of main and string/ruffle colours.

Blueberry do enough group-only gift card giveaways for the L$20 to be worth it even if you're not keen on the current freebies, IMO.

I spend very little on clothing: the alts mostly stock up when Blueberry/Addams/Bumblebee/Vision/Tachinni give away gift cards at Shop and Hops. I've kitted out a couple with the Scandalize freebies. When Petit Mort and Oubliette do a hunt my main will pick up a couple of items for L$10/L$20, and she's a Belle Epoque group member so she gets those gifts too.
