Hey all,

Shot in the dark but has anyone ever received a 'Grid Emergency Login Failure' error when trying to log into the Beta Grid?  I wanted to do some building this morning and haven't been able to get in.

I've tried specifying a different region, using the official SL viewer, and nothing seems to work. and yes I've logged into the Beta Grid before.  If all else fails I have an open ticket, but I googled that error message and didn't find a single result for that phrase, which I thought was odd.

Wow "Grid Emergency".  I've had several different login failure messages over the years but never THAT one!  What CAN it mean?

Thanks Kimberly.  There actually was an outage on aditi (noticed and fixed sometime yesterday) which would have affected login for about 6% of residents, including yourself.  However, looking at your login failures from yesterday, your viewer should have presented the failure reason as this, rather than any sort of 'grid emergency':

Could not establish presence. Please try logging in again in a minute. If you feel this is an error, please contact support@secondlife.com.

Which viewer type/version were you using when you hit the incorrect error message?

Hi Maestro!  I tried two viewers yesterday. The official SL Viewer was the one that gave me the Grid Emergency error. In fact I downloaded and installed it that morning to try a different viewer since I couldn't get into Aditi. The version is Second Life Release 6.6.1.572458 (64bit)

I normally log in with Firestorm, which only gave me an odd "Invalid Login. Invalid Login." error.

Thanks for the info - I can confirm that 6.6.1.572458 has a strings.xml change that translates the 'LoginFailed' Error ID to the 'grid emergency' message you saw.  This was a fairly recent change.  I've filed an internal bug about it, as the messaging would almost always be inaccurate.

This is a "me three" post.  I run two accounts, never simultaneously and both accounts have had this message once or twice, never on successive logins to Agni.

Both inventories are quite moderate (c.50k elements) and very well managed with folders and subfolders of moderate size.

There is some issue with the login servers getting their "ducks in a row" during the preparation phase of an account's login process.  Something has made this phase more vulnerable to failed race processes and I suspect that no-one at LL has a clear idea what it is.

I dont have a picture of Proof, but I just got this message myself. I thought it was strange, I never had a message like this pop up before, and I dont even try to log into the beta grid cuz im not a creator. So for that to just randomly pop up,... i have no idea.
