Just been put in charge of a new club and a little lost. How do I post a ad to hire people that will come up in the search window? What is the best job board to use to hire?

If you want to hire performers and DJ's you could try looking at the event listings go to a show see what they sound like. Their profile may well give you details on how to book them or direct you to an agent to contact who does that stuff for them

You could create a classified ad. Be careful though. You might forget about it and be paying a small listing fee every month for years and years.

I'd like to add to this, I really hate the trend now of asking people to go online to another website, to fill out an application where the person hiring wants real life information. There is no reason in the world for them to need this. They don't need my name, my phone number, my email address, my street address, or anything else for a job in SL that pays less than it would cost to get your car washed.

Here's a Wiki entry that summarizes various ways to advertise.

The two most appropriate for seeking employees are the Inworld Employment forum, and a Classified ad, which you create in your own Profile. As a manager, you might want to draft the ad, and give it to the club owner to post in THEIR Profile. Otherwise, you wind up paying the recurring listing fee.

Oh, I forgot the most bestest way of all: Tell all your friends about the club and hire them! And tell them to tell THEIR friends!

Word of mouth is always available, and it's free.

I forget the specifics, but I know there are groups/agencies in SL that will (for a fee) manage a club's staffing for them. That might be worth looking into depending on what parts of the club/business you actually enjoy managing.

I agree.

Other things I thought about were, "Do you have a budget for recruiting? How much? Do you know what kind of people you seek? Do you have stated qualifications? Do you plan to pay staff? How much? What do you expect/require of staff?" Etc.
