First, make sure the "message" is from Linden Lab.

LL will only notify you of this via email, NOT in a message in the viewer or other means. If the email contains a link to click "for more information", "to open a dispute", "to verify your information" or anything else, DON'T click it. It's probably a phishing scam.

If you're not sure, or you ARE sure it's from LL, then manually navigate to your SL Dashboard and file a support case.

Possible reasons for LL to suspend your account:

  • You owe money and your credit card's expired so they couldn't charge it.
  • Someone submitted an Abuse Report on you and they're investigating
  • Someone sent you a large amount of fraudulent L$ and they're investigating
  • Your account has committed serious ToS violations. This might have been you (naughty, naughty!) or someone who's gained access to your account and was using it without your knowledge.
  • They mistook you for someone else, or your public IP address is the same as some evildoer.
