Seeing the SWAT team 2 doors down, in full riot gear, just once will open your eyes a bit.

They DID knock though..and called out many times.

The OTHER time I saw the SWAT team in my neighborhood, I heard it was due to a gunshot suicide.  That looked more like a "bomb squad" plus a SWAT team combined.

Ennywho, in neither case would actually being armed have done any good.  Maybe if a griffer came to one's house.  But not SWAT.

Self defense in your home is actually the most legitimate reason to own a gun. If you go into a gun store in Los Angeles you will see a wide cross section of people purchasing a gun. Someone decided to defund the police and this is a consequence of it.

We had a massive amount of guns in the US before any police were defunded though, so defunding the police isn't the cause of people buying guns.
