Hello, I was wondering if any fellow djs, hosts and security can answer me this question. What is the mainstream payment for your job?

For example, do djs, for events, get mainly paid around 2k-5k per event (This is paid by the creator of the event. This does not include tips)

Like just the average, I understand each person is different in what they would expect for pay, so please note that.

If you look through most of the job postings for DJs and hosts, most are only paid in tips.  There are certainly places that pay a salary and DJs who require a salary plus tips but not as a rule.  Well established DJs who can bring a crowd could ask for a salary more so than someone newer.

Also, some clubs will have a few DJ sets as an audition before agreeing to any salary.

Very few hostess jobs pay anything other than tips nor do I see much security anymore.  So, there really is no "mainstream" answer as it would depend on where one was working.
