Well, yeah. This is in response to Zeta's excellent suggestion that there should be a thread for people who want to post pics without implicitly seeking the approval of members of the opposite (or indeed, any other) sex.

Post what you want, where you want, for whatever reason you want. Your virtual body -- your choice.

But if you just want to showcase your avi looking spicy and hot, without any suggestion of an ulterior motive or an intended audience, perhaps you can use this thread.

I don't have a lot of "hot" and "spicy" pics of myself available right now. At least, not ones that the forums would allow. So I'm going to start off with this one. I'm not sure if it really counts as spicy or not, but it's the best I've got. I'm certain you can do much better!

It would perhaps be better to post a thread with a dress code that would be what you would wear to a meeting with your children's principal in RL.

Many do not understand the lines between spicy, erotic art or porn without showing the bits. And showing off without an "ulterior motive"? Maybe I am wrong, maybe not.

Why? What a very dull series of pics that would make. Our avatars, and our pictures of them, are about self-expression. Constraining them by forcing conformity to a rather old-fashioned sense of propriety kills individuality and creativity. Why not just insist that we all wear uniforms?

I have seen no pics here that even approach what I would call "porn." But perhaps your understanding of that differs from mine.

Which is, of course, sort of the point -- I see no reason why your squeamishness should determine how the rest of us define what we call "erotic" or "pornographic."

The only real arbiter here is, of course, the LL mod team. And although there are maybe one or two pics that are a bit daring, virtually none of the pics here could not have been posted on the other pic threads without comment. And it would seem rather odd to close this thread when there are already two long-established ones that cater to showing off our sexual sides to members of the opposite sex.

I have no idea what the particular motives of individuals posting here are. Neither do you. I'd rather like to avoid the whole "She's-dressing-like-that-to-attract-men" or "She-clearly-'wants-it'" thing, if you don't mind. Let's not put words in other people's mouths.

Well, yes! I can be pretty wordy, right? That's mostly because I dislike simplistic statements that reduce complex issues to black-and-white ones.

I've tried to be at least a little pithy, although I'm not sure why, as you say you won't be back. This seems to me a good policy for you to follow: if you find the contents of this thread disturbing or inappropriate, best to avoid it altogether.

These two are a little "spicy". The first is when Cait suddenly kissed my Alt, Swallow, right before our Wedding and I didn't notice, because I was Using two PC's (she knows Swallow is me, btw).  The second is Cait captured at FED. The only two ways for her to get out, were by being released, or turning off RLV.  Released was actually not a realistic option!!!

Don't tempt me, Marianne.

When I was a child, my parents took turns sleeping with the school principals. When I was very young, I joined in, particularly when we slept outside. It was not uncommon to find me, a parent, and/or a principal wandering around the "school" naked.

While no one can really define taste and what one would find erotic or spicy or not, but nothing here comes close to porn really.

Showing off is what the topic is about, but are not most of the photo topics? Show off you portrait, show off you avies look, this one show off your spicy side. If it's not for you that is of course perfectly fine. I myself greatly enjoy expressing sensuality through SL, so this is now one of my favorite forum topics (thank you @Scylla Rhiadra!) where others maybe enjoy word games topics more or anything really. To each there own and lets respect each others choices without trying to impose our own visions on them.

This is interesting -- and maybe a bit encouraging.

There are a couple of pics in this thread, that I personally think are gorgeous and in no way "over the top," that I thought it likely the mods would nuke.

Instead, Quartz has moved the entire thread here, and those pics remain. It suggests maybe that there is an acceptance of something like "artistic merit," or context, as a criterion for judging the acceptability of certain kinds of pics. Or, of course, it may just be that this forum is much less popular and "out of the way," so the pics don't get as much exposure.

Whatever the reason, I'm grateful that the pics seem all to have been allowed to stand. So, thank you @Quartz Mole and the forum mod team!

(It is now, of course, our responsibility not to push the envelope too far, I guess. But I don't think that will be an issue for most of us.)

I certainly thought mine would be flagged and removed.  I'd started the picture wearing lingerie.  Bra/thong outfit.  It looked nice.  When I decided on the pose, I realized there wasn't much showing of the outfit so off it went.

Your picture is great. The play with the shadows and the light, the pose, etc. Even though you're naked, it's still very stylish, artistic and soft IMO. It suggests but is not over blatantly provocative.

I moved it in response to requests from residents that it be moved because it seemed more a photography thread than one about avatars, and I agreed.

The normal Community Participation Guidelines continue to apply, of course, including

My saying this probably won't do any good, but it really wouldn't be a good idea for anyone to use the thread to try to push the boundaries in an attempt to find out how spicy is too spicy.

I honestly don't care if you want spicy pics. But because SL is very sexual forward, it is hard to find modest clothing at events, without it being kawaii or feminine. So for a person like me, I have a hard time finding stuff in my style.
