You're having this a bit backwards. You don't get employed to learn how Second Life works. You first learn how it works and then look for employement.

Also, being employed always means you have to have some type of skill. Meshing, roleplaying, costumer service, texturing, animation making and so on and so on. Without a skill you will not find employement.
