I am curious on the opinions of others about Russians who play SL and what if anything LL should do if anything?

I am an anarchist my dear ChinRey

That doesn't change the fact that there are local, regional, national and global authorities who genuinely try to do what's best for the people they are responsible for. Not consistently of course, nobodys perfect after all, but at least they give it a good try.

If you're an anarchist it means you think they shouldn't try. That's your opinion and it's fair enough but it doesn't give you the right to deny their existence.

Do you really think there would be that Dublin that you seem to love, if the world had been an anarchy?
I highly doubt it. Even all social animals have rules and regulations in their communities and that is not for nothing and no coincidence.

The planet was not build with borders, they were made by authorities.

Also i don't care if someone is black, white , semite , Brazilian,  Eskimo, American or simply some immigrant who entered the country without a passport. For me it's another human being and has same rights as me. Plain and simple .

Those who prefer borders, walls like the one that some ex US president has build or thinks that because of his skin deserves better than anyone else who was born on this planet can avoid talking to me cause soon will be in my ignore list where i put people who accept such methods and authorities.

What you are describing now is not exactly pure anarchy.
And because some countries prefer clowns as presidents or PMs, doesn't make the whole world a circus IMHO.

No political system is perfect, but pure anarchy is certainly one of the worst thinkable. That would mean survival of the fittest in extreme. I'm not into that.

I should have obscured the file name. It's a dead wrong giveaway.

That's a bowl of apple pie.

...awaits the ban hammer.

I'd wanted to ask why you put ground meat in the apple pie but then I realized it wasn't ground beef, like what comes in Dinty Moore cans now unlike long ago when you got real chunks of real beef. But I digress. Next time just let the layers of rolled out dough sink in, and you'll have a round cobbler.

When it comes to apple pie it doesn't matter much what it looks like when it hits the bowl or plate as long as the flavor is right. It's all going to end up in the same place anyway.

I've been attempting (for years now) to lower the calorie count of the things I eat, so I can eat more of them. I found a recipe for apple pie with crumbly top crust only. It uses sugar substitues (stevia, allulose, erithrytol) and apple sauce to replace most of the butter in the crust. Clearly, the apples were not the best for baking, and produced far more liquid than the flour and cornstarch could handle. The applesauce dried out, producing a crusty shield Captain America would be proud of. The meat bits you see are pieces of the crust I was able to chisel loose.

It actually tastes fine. Those of you who know me won't be surprised to hear that I'm calling it a success and intend to serve it to guests someday.

Well. No wonder. I take back what I said about the cobbler. You're just making a mess now. Carry on!

There are anarchist communities, anarchy, as a social system is not survival of the fittests, that is libertarianism.  In truth, anarchy means smaller communities with no vertical hierarchy, interacting with other similar communities on equal terms. Think of something like a coop.

The idea of burning trash cans and roving gangs of looters is a boogyman to scare people.

EDIT: Im not an anarchist btw, Im socialist, but Ive met anarchists who ended up living in comunes in the outskirts, and they are more like hippies than mad max bikers.

The world is full of people that don't have the same opinions that you have. Same with people that oppose abortion or think welfare should be reformed or that assisted suicide should be legal and a million other things. Pretty soon you'll be out of people, which I doubt just by your posts that you'd care much.  Wouldn't the world be a bland place if everyone thought the same?

On topic, there are many Russians who don't agree with the invasion.

All of my Russian friends are even more livid than any Eurpopeans I know. Not much they can do from South Norway,, London or Boston. Cool heads prevail, hopefully. People on both sides here. Sure I am mad, and upsessed, but my Baltic and East Europen friends are really scared. Fortunate enough to be a Scandinavian Nato citizen with Finland as a buffer... Let SL be SL and lets all talk inworld... Many of us actually do. From Egypt to Canada and lots in between.

This is what is truly sad. It is literally brother vs brother and doesn't make any sense whatsoever. And to think Ukraine once had the 3rd largest arsenal of nukes and was asked by the international community to disarm which they obliged. And now they are left to defend for themselves. One has to wonder if they still had nukes would Putin had attacked? This sets a really poor precedent moving forward. This is the reward the international community gives you for disarming. I am sure Iran and North Korea are watching closely.

Thread seems to have gotten derailed with political opinions, but that was to be expected when talking about politics.

In short to answer op:

LL has no reason to ban Russian accounts. At the time, there are no sanctions that call for such action. If sanctions that would call for this are put into place, I doubt LL will ban the accounts anyway, they are more likely to put up a Geo Fence to block connections from Russia, thus allowing those who may leave Russia to connect.

However L$ withdrawal may be affected for those in Russia due to banking sanctions.

I am curious to know if anyone thinks LL will start banning Russian IPs since they log in from the country that is invading Ukraine? I remember hearing stories in the past of other countries using SL for meetups to discuss things since it flew under the radar. While I admit i am sure not all Russians are for Putin invading.. but makes you wonder since this world is on a global scale.. I also wonder if there are any Ukraine groups where one can get actual boots on the ground updates.

Just a curiosity of mine.

In the past, the Lindens have issued statements of solidarity, ranging from sympathy to the victims of the London terrorist bombing to the activists of Black Lives Matter. So I think they should issue a similar statement of solidarity to Ukrainians and call for peace, which all kinds of celebrities and organizations are doing, even those which usually don't speak out, such as scholarly groups.

There are Ukrainians who work for the Lindens and the Moles.

I would hardly expect them to ban Russian IP addresses, especially as quite a few Russians oppose this war and have suffered the consequences even with arrest.

It's sad that there is not a single Ukrainian sim as such in SL. I have worked extensively in the past covering the war in Ukraine and am able to do a little now, and I hope to put in some kind of installation when I have the time. I can't begin to explain the awfulness of all this...

What I wish the Lindens would do is ban the use of the name Putin, who is rightly described, and not only by the Ukrainian ambassador to the UN, as a war criminal. I see some quite frivolous uses of this name in the People list. Tonight I had a Woodbury 4-chan style griefer harangue me for an hour with fake friendship requests and force TPs who had the name "PresidentPutin" and joined one of my groups. He was spouting the usually nonsense I suffered for years -- and these are not just kids. It is targeted and deliberate and related to RL.

Of course I AR'd this account, I expelled him from a free group he joined, I blocked him. I know the capacity for this is endless but the Lindens could be proactive here and not allow the name.

I guess everyone will go on shopping then...
