GaeMalaparte
hi everyone, need your guidance...I recently bought a submarine which I'm very happy with and a plane. I enjoy both of them. Yet I'm having difficulties finding rez places easely for my submarine. Mainly my issue is, I rez but I can't go very much anywhere, I choose calm and remote aiport but while I'm driving I get quickly stuck against invisible "walls" or get ejected by "private land" in middle of nowhere....same with my plane Did someone know if there is "maps" or "compas" to make easy the navigation ? Your experiences and recomandations are very welcome thanks
Mollymews
3rd party viewers like Catznip and Firestorm have parcel lines showing on their minimaps, so can most easily see where the Linden public right-of-ways are for rez zones, use keyword REZ ZONE in inworld search. It will list a whole bunch of inworld locations. Explore the listings and make landmarks for the ones that suit your use for example the Blake Sea area has lots of rez zones for water vehicles. Half Hitch region for example there are also some public airports which can be found on search REZ ZONE, like Hau Koda for example also with planes, rez zones on the public roads can be used as runways to take off from
Anna Nova
I have, on occasion, rezzed a boat on a rez zone of a near-beach road, and then moved it (with Edit) onto the water. It's not especially fun, or realistic, but then most yachts in RL are built on land and then launched. If you sail a lot you get to know all the regions connected to Blakes Sea rather well, I can tell where I am by the sea floor.... If only the seas were deeper. Wherever you sail or drive, you must have Ban-Lines visible, and if you fly you WILL get sent home by Security Orbs run by cretins at any random height because LL didn't think it was necessary to prevent them, and they get put in faster than they can be mapped. Welcome to (trying to) drive, sail or fly in SL.

Ajay McDowwll
We own a region with protected water access to the Blake Sea and have a public rez zone set up. I'll PM you the SLURL. Orwar
There are plenty of rez zones around Blake, both for boats and aircraft. As long as you stay over water you shouldn't run into any ban lines or orbs - a lot of islands and coastal parcels are privately owned though, and some use orbs or banlines. When flying, a parcel having an orb usually isn't a problem as long as you have time to evacuate the parcel; most of them can be cruised right through even at 40 kts if it's a 15 second orb (if your vehicle's IAS is accurate, at 40 kts you should have time to clear about 300 meters in 15 seconds, which should allow you to clear around 5/6ths of a region on the diagonal).
Lindal Kidd
There's a navigation tool available on the Marketplace. https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Ban-Line-Explorer-HUD-Professional-Quality-for-Pilots-Boaters-Planes-All-Vehicles-even-Landlords/1269113
Paulsian
The blake sea is awesome, I love fishing there. If you search the map for bellisseria you'll see a big giant area that has a lot of public official second life space built for the new linden homes. You do not have to be a home owner to enjoy the public roads, waterways, air space; has that more open world feel, and lots to explore. Ban lines/boundaries are banned. You won't have to worry about running into those, you can fly over other residents property, if they have security system your chat will give you a warning to leave the air space within set amount of time. Search bellisseria on map and you'll see fairgrounds there's few rez areas there, they are also usually by light houses too. You'll see a bunch of them all over as you explore.
StarlanderGoods
I use the USB (Ultimate Sailor Buddy) to plot courses, so I can avoid hitting the sea limits, or other obstacles.

Not sure if it is better, and I honestly picked it because I own several of their vehicles rather than specifically for the HUD itself, plus the maker is pretty responsive if you have issues.

I remember running into an orb on the Blake and the owner changed the wording and put like 500 seconds on it and it said "If you''re just sailing through, never mind me. Have a nice day."
