Most residents pay a good chunk of cash for Second Life. Not to be ignored or been told that it is impossible or not meant that way.

I've been to places that reminded me of a bad early-90s screensaver.

 

Still, look at things like Linden Homes.

 

I had one that looks *almost* identical to a Trompe Loeil house I own but tack on an extra 50 LI and add in some issues with texturing plus inferior scripting on doors and windows and really poor lighting.

Belli looks great,  but the resource usage of the linden homes and scenery in Belli is hilarious IMHO.
They totally ignored that people do want to decorate their houses and still want to be able to move around without too much lag.

I wish the comms part of SL was decoupled from the sim part. Sometimes I'd like to check some group chat but I'm not on the computer where I'm logged to SL, or don't feel like loading the full viewer and going fully online just to check IM / group chats.
